Over the past 6 months, a selection of potential future leaders from Hobart have been undergoing training to develop essential knowledge, skills and behaviours to successfully lead their teams.
Employee training is pivotal to the overall success of the HOBART UK divisions and the leading service we offer our customers.
The Ignite Leadership Programme is a custom-built programme which covers topics such as talent development, action planning and leading change; aligned with ITW and HOBART UK strategic aims, values and key drivers.
Dyfrig Jenkins from YOU Development ran the programme:
"This year's cohort of 12 managers and team leaders from across the UK have worked well with each other and their teams to improve their performance. The participants learned a range of core topics from assessing their capabilities as a line manager to greater personal effectiveness to better leadership of their teams.
“This cohort were motivated to learn, showed vulnerability and there was a good amount of humour thrown in for good measure.”
The participants from HOBART UK’s Service and Equipment Sales divisions, brought together a diverse group from different functions within the business.
In July, the group became the third cohort of employees to complete the course following a final presentation session where the delegates each shared their learnings.
Johanna McGoff, HOBART UK’s Digital Marketing Executive, commented:
“It was a great opportunity to learn alongside colleagues from other areas of the business, we were on our learning journey together and really benefited from being able to put in to practise some of the course content and then share our experiences with each other."
Nichola Maristani, HOBART Service’s Key Accounts Team Leader has already received positive comments from her team:
“One of the things I am most proud of is being told by my team that they have seen a difference in me, that they see me as someone who is more personable, fair, patient and approachable. My team now come and want to have conversations with me without me having to instigate it first. This shows that over the last few months I have built trust and openness with them.”
Leasing & Finance Manager, Lizzie Lack commented on how the course has benefitted her:
"The Ignite leadership Training has given me the confidence and resources to be a better leader for my team and colleagues. I'm now equipped with the tools to continue my own personal development and that of my team."
Dyfrig concluded:
“At the end of Ignite each participant presented a summary of how they are applying their learning; we heard about improved interpersonal relationships, more positive team working and importantly the positive effect it is already having on customers.
“A big congratulations to all the delegates for completing their training!”
